In this guide, we’ll unveil our carefully curated list of the most hair-raising activities to indulge in on Clifton Hill. So, if you’re ready to embrace the spine-tingling spirit of the season, join us as we explore the top “scary” experiences that this iconic Canadian destination has to offer.

1. Carnival Chaos

Address: 4960 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, ON, L2G 3N4

Lock and load your weapons as you prepare to do battle against the freaks at Carnival Chaos!

You’ll be tossed, pulled and toyed with like a mouse caught by a villainous cat. Get over your fears, gather your friends and family, then get ready to battle the fiendish hordes at Carnival Chaos.

2. Nightmares Fear Factory

Address: 5631 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3L5
Phone: (905) 357-3327

It doesn’t matter your age, Nightmares Fear Factory is hands down the scariest attraction in the Clifton Hill vicinity. Located just off Clifton Hill at 5631 Victoria Av., it is the oldest haunted house in North America in operation. The Nightmares experience is more psychological to induce fear. There is no blood and guts, but rather focuses on what lurks in the dark.

If at any point you get too frightened to continue, simply call out “Nightmares!”, and you will be safely escorted out and added to the over 147,000 that have chickened out to date!

3. Zombie Attack

One of Clifton Hill’s newest attractions, and arguably the most exciting that will leave you on the edge-of-your-seat is Zombie Attack. This is a 6D multi-sensory adventure ride in which you compete against everyone else in the theater with you. All you have is your gun and an army of flesh-eating and hungry zombies on your tail! Will you be the champion of mankind?

4. Movieland Wax Museum “House of Horrors”

Be amazed by our life-like wax sculptures of characters from classic films like Aliens and the Terminator…to current hits like Black Widow and the Ironman! Snap a selfie next to your favourite stars and celebrities! If wax museums freak you out, than you may want to skip the “House of Horrors” towards the end of this self-guided tour. Movieland Wax Museum gives you the option to slip out of this part of the museum with a “chicken exit” for the faint of heart. The scariest of horror characters in the movies, moving animatronics, aliens, monsters…and something electrifying at the end, that will leave a chill in your bones!

As one of the nation’s largest miniature golf courses, Dinosaur Adventure Golf features two 18-hole courses: “Raptor” and “T-Rex” (A Total of 36 Holes); 3 distinct decorative ponds with fast-moving rapids and bubblers; and a 50 foot high “active” steam-erupting volcano that lets golfers play directly through a realistically eerie, cavernous volcanic interior on their way to the 18th hole.

8. The Haunted House

Address: 4943 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3N4

Check out this video:

Haunt Manor

Located at 9387 Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls at Campark, Haunt Manor is NOT recommended for children under the age of 8, so keep little Johnny at home for this one. Through the Battle of 1812, this legitimately haunted house was inhabited by the Pew family. The house is over 200 years old and when the family mysteriously disappeared several years after the war, sightings of paranormal activity became rampant at this address. Today, a series of haunted houses and hayrides are offered on this property and was voted #1 in Ontario for the best haunted attraction and hayride facility. There are 9 frightening attractions and its open weekends until November 1st. Hours are 7pm-11pm and Sunday’s 7-10pm.
Fort George Ghost Tours

Niagara-on-the-Lake is commonly referred to as the most haunted town in Canada due to its history and battles on the land. The most prevalent tales of paranormal activity surround Fort George.   There have been hundreds of reports of ghost sightings here ranging from the benevolent spirit of a little girl named Sarah Ann to a more ominous presence simply known as “The Watcher”. The Fort George Ghost Tours is the longest-running ghost walk in the Niagara Region. Candlelight ghost tours of Fort George are offered on October 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 30th and 31st. The tours start at 7:00, 7:15 and 7:30pm and resume at 10:00, 10:15 and 10:30pm. If you are interested in purchasing tickets for these Niagara Falls Halloween events at Fort George, please call 905-468-6621.
Warner Ranch and Pumpkin Farm

Okay, back to kid-friendly Niagara Falls Halloween events LOL! Warner Ranch and Pumpkin Farm offers pumpkins of every shape and size as well as corn stalks, apples, squash and Indian corn to complete your Fall and Halloween decorating needs. They are open daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm and it is FREE to enter. For the kiddies, there is a petting zoo, pony rides and a corn maze for $2 each. Belgian horse-drawn hay rides are also available on weekends only, from 10:00am to 4:00pm for $2 as well. Not recommended for younger children, there is also a haunted hayride held October 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th with the first ride going out at 7:00 pm with the last ride departing at 10:45 pm.
Of course, you can head to Clifton Hill year-round for a good fright! Haunted houses such as the House of Frankenstein, Dracula’s Haunted Castle, the Haunted House, Screamers Niagara and the immensely popular Nightmares Fear Factory are all good fun and are all located right in the heart of the tourism district on Clifton Hill and Victoria Avenue.

Kids and adults will both love the Ghostblasters Dark Ride located in the Great Canadian Midway, where you head through a black-lit haunted hotel in a car on a track. Play against an opponent with laser guns and shoot ghosts and targets for bragging rights and a “spooky” good time! Upgrade to the Clifton Hill Fun Pass and get an additional 4 attractions on Clifton Hill plus tokens for the arcade at half the retail value!

There is a plethora of exciting Niagara Falls Halloween events this month to take advantage of — be sure to visit any (or all!) of these attractions this Halloween 2013!
