Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara To Re-Open on July 23rd, 2021

Reading Time:  3 minutes -

(Niagara Falls, ON)  July 13, 2021 – Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara are excited to announce that we will re-open in accordance with Provincial approvals at 10am on July 23 to the public.  Invitation only events will be held on July 21 and 22.  Both properties were shut down on March 16, 2020 in line with Provincial measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Since the shutdown, Niagara Casinos have been diligently preparing for this re-opening day with new and extensive health and safety measures. We have developed industry leading health and safety precautions to ensure the safety of our casino family of customers and associates. These measures have been reviewed by Niagara Region Public Health and Emergency Services and Infection Control and Prevention experts.

“We are looking forward to welcoming back our guests and associates, and are doing so with their health and safety as our top priority. We are incredibly grateful for the efforts and sacrifices everyone has made over the past sixteen months that have made it safe for us to re-open our doors”, says Richard Taylor, president, Niagara Casinos. “Together, by following implemented health and safety procedures we can get back to fun at Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara!”

When guests return to property, they can expect things to look a little bit different, but playing it safe has never been so fun.  Customers can expect to see the following protocols in places when they arrive:

  • Momentum cards will be required to enter the casino for contact tracing purposes;
  • Physical distancing of at least two metres;
  • The use of face coverings for customers and employees;
  • Ensuring the availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes for customers;
  • Implementing where effective and possible, physical barriers such as clear plastic partitions;
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfection, particularly of high-touch surfaces, bathrooms and shared equipment;
  • Signage and communication to reinforce all health and safety protocols;
  • Employee health screening tools including temperature kiosks;
  • COVID-19 health & safety training for all staff.

As we begin re-opening on July 23, we appreciate the cooperation of our guests and associates as we work to welcome guests back to property. Things will re-open in a phased approach with limited amenities available at the onset to ensure a safe environment for all.

Fallsview Casino Resort will be open 24/7 and offerings will include the hotel, gaming floor, slots, electronic table games, select dining establishments, the parking garage and Galleria shops and dining amenities. Limited table games will open at Fallsview on July 30.  Casino Niagara will be re-opening from 10am to 2am daily with the last entry permitted at 1:15am.  Offerings will include the gaming floor, slots, electronic table games, Perks Café, and the Chill Bar. At this time, table games and the poker room will not be available at Casino Niagara. As we progress through re-opening all amenities will be evaluated and re-opening when possible. Casino Niagara Completes $7 Million Investment

Reading Time:  2 minutes -

Casino Niagara has now re-opened the second level of the building after completing a $3.5 million renovation to the space, and investing another $3.5 million on new slot machines and gaming technology throughout the property.

“At Niagara Casinos, our mission is to provide all of our patrons with a world-class entertainment experience,” said Richard Taylor, president, Niagara Casinos. “Our investment in Casino Niagara is helping us deliver on that mission, and with our new restaurant, poker room, and next-generation gaming options, we are offering our patrons one of the most comprehensive entertainment experiences in southern Ontario.”

New amenities at Casino Niagara include:

  • LEV2L Sports Bar and Entertainment – A 275-seat sports-themed restaurant and bar with a 123-inch HDTV and numerous additional HDTVs, allowing sports fans to catch all the action from their favourite sports teams from pre-season to the finals. The restaurant also offers a new menu, a stage for live music performances, an area for sports wagering, and is the largest sports-themed restaurant in the Niagara Region.

  • Poker Room – The renovated space also features a new 24-table poker room, including a view of Niagara Falls. From November 13, 2017, the new poker room will host satellites for the upcoming Fallsview Poker Classic World Poker Tour event, which takes place in February 2018.

  • New Gaming Technology – The investment includes a variety of new slot machines, and the creation of an interactive gaming zone featuring items such as PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Golden Tee systems, and immersive, skills-based gaming.

Casino Niagara held an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting, which featured dignitaries including the president of Niagara Casinos, Richard Taylor,  the mayor of Niagara Falls, Jim Diodati, OLG’s chief operating officer, Greg McKenzie, member of provincial parliament for Niagara Falls, Wayne Gates, and local business leaders.

“Today is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many from both Niagara Casinos and OLG and I would like to thank everyone involved in this project,” said Greg McKenzie, Chief Operating Officer, OLG. “OLG has been a member of the Niagara Falls community since Casino Niagara first opened in 1996. The new gaming technology, newly designed sports bar and enhanced dining experience will help keep business strong, which benefits both the City and Region of Niagara Falls. OLG’s commitment is to continue to make this community a better place to live, work and do business.”

“We were very pleased to welcome a number of our partners in the community at today’s opening event,” said Taylor. “Our partnerships with local government, tourism organizations and the business community are one of the key components to our success, and it was great to have a number of our partners join us in the celebration.”

During the renovations, Casino Niagara temporarily closed some of its access points to various parts of the casino. All access points are now reopened and available for use.

#2. Walk the Strip!

Photo cred
Las Vegas is known for its vibrant cityscape with dramatic architecture and lights. Just like Vegas, Niagara Falls has its own dazzling street of fun — Clifton Hill! It’s constantly modernizing itself with new attractions, bigger and better newly renovated restaurants such at Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse (with one of Niagara’s biggest patio’s featuring live entertainment), and entertainment offerings on the Strip. Just like in Las Vegas, Clifton Hill even has its own Elvis Impersonator that sits in the Niagara SkyWheel Courtyard entirely wrapped in gold for photo opportunities! Light shows? Yes! At the bottom of Clifton Hill is Queen Victoria Park where everyone waits for the Niagara Falls firework shows every Friday, Wednesday, Sunday, and Holiday throughout the Summer. Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, and Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls attractions close late in the Winter, and in the wee hours of the morning in the Summer, making it Niagara’s favourite party destination.

It holds 28 40-passenger capsules in a glass-lined and temperature-controlled gondola. Niagara Falls has Canada’s largest observation wheel at 175 feet tall (53 metres). Chinese New Year: Year of the Monkey

Reading Time:  4 minutes -The 2016 Chinese New Year is on Monday, February 8th, and it is the year of the Monkey!
According to a recent article by the Niagara Falls review, statistics from 2014 showed that Chinese tourists who visit Niagara Falls spent an average of $653 per day, including accommodation, with most spending their cash on shopping, dining and sightseeing. One survey found that in four years’ time, outbound Chinese tourists could number around 174 million, spending about $343 billion Canadian annually, putting Niagara Falls in a position as a top contender in places to visit in the world by Chinese travellers. The top 3 landmarks to frequent ranked The Pyramids, Mount Fuji and Niagara Falls on their bucket lists. Read the whole article here.
What is the “Year of the Monkey”? (source: chinahighlights.com)
On the Chinese calendar, the year of the Monkey starts from February 8 (Chinese New Year), and ends on January 27, 2017 (Chinese New Year’s Eve).
The Monkey is ninth of the 12 animals in the recurring 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle. Every 12 years there is a Monkey year. The Chinese zodiac is divided into 12 blocks just like ours, but differing in that their time length runs in one year increments instead of one month. The next Year of the Monkey will be in 2028.
2016 is a “Fire Monkey” year, which in Chinese astrology each year is associated with a Chinese zodiac animal sign and one the Five Elements: Gold (Metal), Water, Wood, Fire, or Earth. Both the sign and element of your birth year are said to affect your personality and destiny. Element-sign combinations recur every 60 years. For example, if you are born in 2016, 1956, etc., you are a “Fire Monkey”, and you are thought to be “ambitious and adventurous, but irritable”.

The Lucky and Unlucky Things for “Monkeys”

  • Lucky numbers: 4 and 9
  • Lucky days: the 14th and 28th of any Chinese lunar calendar month
  • Lucky colors: white, blue, gold
  • Lucky flowers: chrysanthemum, crape-myrtle
  • Lucky directions: north, northwest, west
  • Lucky months: Chinese lunar months 8 and 12

The Unlucky Things That “Monkeys” Should Avoid

Niagara Falls Casino Contest!

Reading Time:  4 minutes -It’s that time of the year when Clifton Hill takes a little bit of a break from the chaos of Summertime. It’s just before Christmas and people begin to really watch their budget. The Comfort Inn Clifton Hill room rates are considerably cheaper in the Fall/Winter months than any other time of the year…and now they added a Niagara Falls Casino contest!
This is one of the best times to travel to Niagara Falls, or to simply get away for a staycation. Fewer people travel in December than the most popular months of June to August. This means less crowds, less lineups at popular Niagara Falls attractions, some great deals and there are still some great Niagara Falls events going on in the region — especially with Christmas on the way. As an added incentive, the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill is taking part in a Niagara Falls casino contest — book a room on either Friday, December 6th, 2013 or Saturday, December 7th, 2013 and you are automatically entered into a draw for $200 worth of casino game tokens to use at either Casino Niagara or Fallsview Casino.

* Click here to book a room! You must book by December 4th, 2013*
 So what is going on during those days?
For starters, the Winter Festival of Lights is in full swing! This famous festival transforms the Niagara Parkway into a Winter Wonderland that attracts up to 1.5 million tourists annually both locally and internationally. This year, festival organizers have set up about 20 Korean lantern displays to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War and 50 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and South Korea. This year’s festival features 125 displays and three million tree and ground lights. The festival runs from November 4th, 2013 to January 31st, 2014.

Conveniently, the Fallsview Casino is running the Fallsview Casino Christmas on Ice show until the final day being Sunday, December 8, 2013! It’s a thrilling high paced spectacle of world-class ice skating and features national championship ice skaters, dancers and singers that will fill you with the magic of the season. Tickets start at $25 and there are various showings. If you are interested in booking on the two eligible dates for the Niagara Falls casino contest, here are the showings:
Friday, December 6th, 2013: 9:00 pm. Click here for ticket info.
Saturday, December 7th, 2013: 3:00pm & 9:00pm. Click here for ticket info.

Make sure to grab your camera and check out Niagara-on-the-Lake, just a short distance from the Clifton Hill Niagara Falls Hotel . On December 6th and 7th, 2013 from 10:00am – 4:00pm the 15th Annual Rotary Holiday House Tour commences. The most gorgeous historic properties are decked out for the season in holiday decorations by local businesses and volunteers. The tour operates regardless of the weather.
Purchased tickets ($25) can be picked up between 10 AM and 5 PM, 7 days a week, at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce, on the lower level at 26 Queen St., Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Of course the Clifton Hill Niagara Falls Hotel is not only walking distance from both the Casino Niagara, Fallsview Casino and the Winter Festival of Lights, but it’s also located right on Clifton Hill itself where all the attractions are open this time of the year — and Friday and Saturday nights until 12:00-1:00am for most attractions! The Niagara Skywheel has heated gondolas for your comfort, so no matter how much the temperature drops, the ride is open and offers spectacular one-of-a-kind views on the Niagara Falls and the surrounding landscape.
The best value for your buck is the Clifton Hill Fun Pass, where you get 5 Clifton Hill attractions for only $25.95+tax/Adults and $19.95+tax/Children — these include the Niagara Skywheel (TWO admissions if you purchase online), Dinosaur Adventure Golf (dependant on weather) OR Galaxy Golf, Movieland Wax Museum, the XD Ride Theatre and the Ghostblasters Dark Ride — plus a bonus of 5 tokens to use in the Great Canadian Midway!

There is so much to see within Niagara Falls, this is only a short summary of events that fall into the days of December 6th and 7th, 2013 — just a little added incentive to book on one or both of those two dates in order to be automatically entered into the Niagara Falls casino contest! To get started, click here. Good luck and enjoy your visit to Niagara Falls and your stay at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill.
